MONTBLANC – Writers Edition Honore De Balzac Ballpoint Pen

The Montblanc 2013 Writers Edition Honore de Balzac Ballpoint honours the great writer with a luxurious design that fittingly recalls Balzac’s stature and attire. The instrument features a black high-grade resin cap and dark-grey lacquered barrel with fine stripes in tribute to the cutaway worn by Balzac. The platinum-plated clip with gold-coated ring and turquoise inlay recalls the magnificently decorated walking stick he often carried. Cap and barrel rings are platinum-plated.

The 19th century social classes so brilliantly described by Balzac in “La Comedie humaine” are symbolized in the ring designs: the opulent gold-coated cap head ring for the nobility, the discretely decorated platinum-plated cap ring for the bourgeoisie, and the simply worked cone ring for the lower classes. Balzac’s finely engraved signature decorates the cap.
